About the Institution
History
Our school made its modest beginning in 1978 as Banu Garden school in its namesake premises. Our founders Mrs. Shanthi Narayanan and Mr. P. Narayanan were inspired to venture into this noble service after observing their daughter N. Banu’s passion to help the poor children in her residential neighbourhood in their studies even as she was a little girl. As desired by her parents N. Banu later took charge of the school and upgraded it to Janaki Ramachandran Matriculation School, with the blessings of her beloved aunt Mrs. Janaki Ramachandran and uncle Dr. M. G. Ramachandran. Banu worked with great zeal and soon the school gained an immense reputation. J.R.M. school Banu Garden has created a niche space for itself in Vadapalani, Chennai.
Mission
Banu and her team of dedicated teachers have worked untiringly to develop this school into an institution that not only caters to the academic interests of the students but also inculcates moral values, cultural values and discipline. The objective of the school is to serve students of all sections of the society irrespective of religion, caste, creed, or economic background and mould the children into responsible citizens of the society.

The school under the charitable trust called Shanti Narayanan Educational Trust, founded by Banu, is a non-profitable organisation which spares no effort in helping the economically by giving scholarships and also assists the academically weak students making them prepared to face their challenges confidently on par with the rest of their peers.
